My Philosophy & Design Approach
A way of life- Make your project “unique”
During the onset of the design process, the most important aspect is effective communication with the client in order to understand and target their specific needs and meet their expectations.
This preliminary stage serves as a reference for the whole project.
In the second stage, materials can be presented in order to define the orientation for decorative choices. At the next stage, style creation can begin with the drawing of elevations and details including perspectives and renderings. Mood boards will be added to the renderings to present an atmosphere and the quality of the selection. At the same time, different layouts of the General Arrangement Plan are presented to help find the proper match for the client’s onboard lifestyle.
At this stage, room by room mood boards collecting all the materials are assembled. In the meantime, a booklet compiling the Owner’s Supplies with all the loose furniture and decorative objects is also created.
In the final stage of the project, all drawings with relevant information are provided to the interior outfitting contractors as well as part of the mock-up drawings before the beginning of production.
My Creative Background
Art School
It was clear from a young age that creative drawing was my strong suit, which is why I choose to study art in one of Paris’ most prominent art schools, where I earned a degree in Transport design.
Living in Paris, allowed me to foster my artistic talent. In my free time, I visited museums and art galleries, the Louvre being one of my favorites.
This cultural baggage along with my life experiences have been a source for my creativity.
Project Management & Construction Supervision
On-site and in workshops
At a point in my career, I have had the opportunity to manage an interior design team of 15 people on construction projects of 100+ meter yachts. This experience reaffirmed the idea that a project is always a team effort with everyone involved playing an essential part. Managing people according to their skills and abilities, being consistent and thorough, working on schedule and meeting deadlines are all key elements to the success of a project.
The various projects on which I have worked over the years have led me to collaborate with Europe’s largest shipyards and some of the most prestigious subcontractors. My overall technical skills, my knowledge of technical drawings and my attention to detail allow me to have the credentials to approve and sign construction plans and to carry out on-site inspections with yards and suppliers.
